Two newly elected Conservative councillors suspended over offensive tweets

Two newly-elected Conservative councillors in Stirling have been suspended by the party over allegations they made racist and sectarian posts on social media.
Alastair Majury and Robert Davies are being investigated by the party over posts made on twitter before they were elected.
The pair represent Dunblane and Bridge of Allan, and Forth and Endrick.

It is thought tweets made by Davies have been reported to Police Scotland, while the Scottish Catholic Observer reported Majury had used the derogatory term 'Tarriers' on his former twitter account.
A Scottish Conservatives spokesman said: "Both councillors have been suspended from the party pending an investigation."
A Conservative councillor in Warwick yesterday resigned over a tweet he made during the Eurovision Song Contest which included derogatory comments about Irish gypsies.
