Leading figures from the worlds of law and politics are to speak at the annual conference of the professional body for Scotland’s solicitors.

The Law Society of Scotland is taking place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on Friday 30th September.

Human rights are likely to dominate proceedings, with the SNP’s legal affairs Westminster spokeswoman Joanna Cherry QC and Labour MP Keir Starmer, the former director of public prosecutions for England and Wales, among the speakers on that issue.

There is also a session on the issue of European migration, a key issue in the wake of the Brexit vote.
