Technology industry signs up to support start-ups through TechX accelerator in Aberdeen

Seventy industry leaders, entrepreneurs and organisations have signed up to support technology start-ups in the North East through a new accelerator programme.

Part of the Oil and Gas Technology Centre in Aberdeen, the TechX technology accelerator will be launched in December 2017.

It follows the opening of a new state-of-the-art innovation hub at the technology centre by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon at the beginning of October.

Offering an intense development programme, rapid product prototyping, expert mentors, access to facilities and field testing and funding with no equity or pay back, the accelerator will support start-ups produce cutting edge technology for the energy sector.

It aims to help more than 100 new technology companies in the next decade to take their products to market.

“TechX is here help smaller technology developers take their solutions to market and we want to create a global technology hub in North East Scotland.

“We believe our unique proposition will help us achieve this, and we look forward to working with innovative, forward-thinking companies as we launch in December.”
