Peter Mandelson released on bail after arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office
Peter Mandelson has been released on bail, hours after his arrest on Monday on suspicion of misconduct in public office, the Metropolitan Police has said.
He was pictured returning to his London home in the early hours this morning.
A police statement said: “A 72-year-old man arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office has been released on bail pending further investigation.
“He was arrested at an address in Camden on Monday, February 23, and was taken to a London police station for interview.
“This follows search warrants at two addresses in the Wiltshire and Camden areas.”
This comes after Mandelson was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office yesterday eveing.

The peer was arrested at an address in London following earlier searches of two properties in Camden and Wiltshire.
Mandelson was appointed US ambassador by Prime Minister Keir Starmer but was sacked last year due to his links with Jeffrey Epstein.
He had been under investigation over allegations he shared market-sensitive government information with Epstein during his time as a minister.
