Nicola Sturgeon announced as speaker for women's leadership programme

Nicola Sturgeon has been announced as a speaker for a new leadership programme for women in business and politics.

The former first minister will teach women from around the world how to lead under pressure as part of a five-day leadership programme, Corridors of Power.

Sturgeon will be one of several high-profile politicians and global leaders who will take part as faculty leaders delivering the programme.  

Launching in Edinburgh next January, her full-day masterclass, 'Leadership Under Pressure: Lessons for Women in Power', will draw on her eight years as first minister to show women in politics and business "how to hold their ground when the stakes are highest".

Sturgeon said: "We need more women in leadership across all walks of life. However, in our traditionally male-dominated world, women aspiring to or holding positions of power face unique challenges.  

"I am delighted to be taking part in the Corridors of Power TPDF Masterclass to help a new generation of female leaders overcome these challenges. I am looking forward to sharing the skills and experiences I gained over many years of political leadership, and as well as an insight into the lessons I learned along the way."

Since leaving the Scottish Parliament earlier this year, Sturgeon has toured the UK and Ireland promoting her memoir, and recently appeared on Sky's new television programme 'The Wargame' alongside Michael Gove, Jim Murphy, Penny Mordaunt and other former politicians.
