Aberdeenshire Council IT head hailed 'digital leader of the year'

Head of ICT at Aberdeenshire Council, Nicola Graham, has been named digital leader of the year for Scotland’s public sector.

Over the last two years, Aberdeenshire has become one of the first Scottish local authorities to fully embrace a ‘cloud-based’ service management tool for ICT delivery.

“Don’t let anybody tell you that IT in the public sector is not exciting and innovating – it’s a fantastic place to work,” Graham told an audience of almost 200 as she collected her award.

The awards, winners of which were chosen by a panel of six ICT experts chaired by ScotlandIS public sector liaison, Tommy Laughlin, also saw the Scottish Housing Regulator and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde collect two awards apiece.

The full list of winners is as follows:

Project Delivery Award – Shetland Islands Council

ICT Team Award – Aberdeenshire Council

Citizen Award – The Scottish Housing Regulator

Mobile Award – NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

Innovate Award – Future City Glasgow

Security Award – John Campbell, the Scottish Government

Digital Health Award – NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

Insight Award – The Scottish Housing Regulator

Digital Leader Award – Nicola Graham, Head of ICT, Aberdeenshire Council
