Scottish Lib Dems confirm front bench
The Scottish Liberal Democrats has confirmed its front bench team, the last of the six parties at Holyrood to do so.
Leader Alex Cole-Hamilton said his larger bloc post-election meant it must “use our bigger influence with care”.
All nine of his MSPs have been given responsibility for a portfolio area.
They are as follows:
- Rural Affairs: Andrew Baxter
- Justice: Yi-pei Chou Turvey
- Climate, Environment and Energy: Sanne Dijkstra-Downie
- Education, Children and Young People: Duncan Dunlop
- Public Service Reform, Europe, External Affairs and Culture: David Green
- Health and Care: Adam Harley
- Housing, Social Security and Local Government: Morven-May MacCallum
- Economy, Finance and Tourism: Liam McArthur
- Transport: Willie Rennie
Rennie has also been made the chief whip.
Cole-Hamilton, who also holds the equalities brief, said: “I am delighted to be leading a party with so much fresh talent and so many more MSPs. They are ready to roll up their sleeves and get things done.
“They are bringing with them to Parliament experience and expertise from right across the country, from running a post office to working with kids let down by the care system.
“In this new parliament we've got a responsibility to use our bigger influence with care. The government doesn't hold all the cards.”
First Minister John Swinney announced his new Cabinet last month.
Reform, Labour, the Conservatives and the Greens have already unveiled their top teams.
