Scotland: The Recovery – What Next for Community Wealth Building in Scotland?
10 March 2021 | 10:15 - 14:05
Community Wealth Building (CWB) is a person-centred approach to local economic development that redirects wealth back into the local economy, placing control and benefits into the hands of local people.
The Scottish Government is interested in exploring the potential of CWB in Scotland to deliver inclusive growth - one of the key aspects of their Economic Strategy. Efforts to deliver CWB have intensified in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has immobilised many local businesses and economies.
Building on a useful discussion started at our Scotland: The Recovery kick-off event, Holyrood invites you to join us to explore what’s next for CWB in Scotland. Sessions will examine how CWB can be successfully unveiled across Scotland and whether it is an adequate, or desirable, policy response to the economic crisis we are currently in.
