Politics Explained 2020

50% off ticket prices due to the move online with an additional 30% discount if you are in the public and private sector and book both days!

Holyrood's annual Politics Explained conference launched in 2007 and since then we have been helping inform the public sector about Scottish politics so they may engage optimally with our political institutions.  We have listened to feedback that we received last year and this year's conference will be split into two events over consecutive days.

You’ll learn key ways to engage with the Scottish political system; gain an understanding of successful communications and media engagement campaigns; and learn the best way to lobby and influence.

The first event will be dedicated to how the Scottish Parliament works and the second event will focus on the Scottish Government and will seek to explain everything you need to know about the Government and how to navigate it to best affect your desired outcomes from it.

The events can be attended on their own but to get the most from the conference and the opportunity to network with MSPs and civil servants, attendance at both is suggested.

The wide range of speakers, combined with a varied selection of workshops, means that everyone will find something that is relevant to their organisation's needs, and the broad appeal of the agenda provides a great mix of people for networking and sharing ideas across sectors.
