EU Transition - Business Readiness Series: The New Points-Based Immigration System

Free movement with the European Union (EU) ended on 31 December 2020 and there are new arrangements for EU citizens.

The UK’s new Points-Based system treats EU and non-EU citizens equally and aims to attract people who can contribute to the UK’s economy. Within the system there is a route for skilled workers with an approved employer sponsor. As well as the Points-Based system there is the Global Talent Scheme and a Settlement Scheme for EU citizens who were living in the UK by 31 December 2020.

What do all of these changes mean for your organisation’s current European employees and for your future talent pipeline? Minister for Future Borders and Immigration, Kevin Foster MP, and Home Office offiicials joined Mandy Rhodes to discuss.
