Empowering Scotland’s Communities: A New Era?

19 March | 10:30 - 15:30

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on our way of life.

Yet it has also provided an opportunity to reflect on the society in which we live and reassess how we deliver individual and collective wellbeing.

In the face of unprecedented adversity, there is evidence that the pandemic has led to greater community cohesion and empowerment.

So how can we ensure these gains are embedded for the long term, and how can Scotland continue its post-devolution tradition of community empowerment?

Join Holyrood Events as we discuss this question with reference to the latest developments in local democracy, participatory budgeting, and asset transfer policy, drawing on the latest thinking from across Scotland and further afield.
