Holyrood magazine picked up a host of accolades at this year's PPA Scottish Magazine Awards.

Editor Mandy Rhodes won columnist of the year, as well as editor of the year in the specialist magazines category.

The Holyrood garden party and awards, which took place in the summer for the first time, also earned the title of event of the year.

Rhodes said: "I am absolutely delighted at the awards that Holyrood won, but particularly pleased that the Holyrood Garden Party and Political Awards, which we held for the first time this year, won the much-coveted 'event of the year'.

"The political garden party has at its very core everything that Holyrood magazine is all about - celebrating the fun in politics.

"So proud of my team."

The magazine awards were held at SWG3 in Glasgow on Thursday night and were hosted by comedian and presenter Des Clarke.

Holyrood was also shortlisted in several categories, including cover of the year.

Comic writer Mark Millar entered the PPA's Hall of Fame.
