This event will provide an up-to-date brief on the latest measures that can be taken in preventing, tackling, and resolving workplace bullying and harassment.

Respect in the workplace

With recent high-profile cases of alleged bullying and harassment dominating headlines and ongoing revelations around chronic sexual harassment, it is clear that a poor workplace culture has the power to damage more than employee morale. ACAS, the conciliation service, recently revealed that bullying and harassment in the workplace is costing employers up to £18bn per year. This kind of behaviour has a severe impact on employee wellbeing, productivity and retention. Additionally, employers themselves can be hit by legal and reputational problems if they do not respond to it effectively. In a 2016 survey 75% of workers claimed they had experienced bullying at work, making this an issue all employers must be prepared to tackle.
