Cera Murtagh

Cera Murtagh is education correspondent for Holyrood Magazine.

After graduating from NUI Galway with a degree in Politics and English, Cera gained a Masters in International and European Politics from the University of Edinburgh. She has since been published in the academic journals Irish Political Studies and Journal of International Women’s Studies. Cera worked as a political researcher in the Scottish Parliament before joining Holyrood as a journalist in April 2008.

Cera covers the current issues in education and skills in Scotland through in-depth features and news articles. She provides analysis on crucial developments from curriculum reform to university funding and the role of skills provision in a recession. Through interviews with key players in the sector she also delivers the insights of those at the centre of Scottish education and training.
