Labour leader Iain Gray announced changes in his shadow cabinet following the decision by Cathy Jamieson this week to put her name forward for the Kilmarnock and Loudoun seat at Westminster in the general election.
 
Cathy Jamieson will stand down from the shadow cabinet.
 
Deputy leader Johann Lamont’s Shadow Cabinet portfolio will be extended to cover Equalities, Housing and Communities with Mary Mulligan continuing to lead on housing policy as Labour’s shadow Minister for Housing, shadowing Alex Neil.
 
Paul Martin will take on the chief of staff role for Labour in the Scottish Parliament in addition to his existing responsibilities as Shadow Minister for Parliament.
