Labour politicians call for Sturgeon to return services to St Johns Hospital |

Labour politicians Jim Devine, MP for Livingston, and Mary Mulligan, MSP for Linlithgow, have today written to Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon on her first visit to West Lothian to ask her to honour SNP election pledges.
In the Scottish Parliament Sturgeon has assured campaigners that there will be no further ‘downgrading’ of Livingston hospital St Johns.
However, writing to Sturgeon today, Devine and Mulligan say that Sturgeon needs to go further.
In the open letter to the new Scottish Health Minister, the Labour politicians seek an assurance from Ms Sturgeon that the new SNP administration will make a commitment to returning services to St Johns Hospital.
Devine said: “We feel that the future of St Johns was an issue of great importance to the people of West Lothian during the run up to the elections in May.
“We don’t expect the Minster to start returning services to St Johns today, but we have asked for a timetable regarding when services are to be returned, in line with the commitment made by local SNP candidates in the run up to the May elections.”

raymond walker, Unregistered i find it ironic that Jim Devines own party Labour that Jim fought so hard aginst when he was a shop steward and then an union officer, when Labour was reducing and closing hospitals , maternity units, emergency departments and closing critical beds should hold the SNP to their election promises, it seems if you live long enough you will see and hear the strangest of things
