Angiolini appoints Senior Advocate Depute Print E-mail
Wednesday, 18 July 2007

Derek Ogg, QC, has been appointed a Senior Advocate Depute, The Lord Advocate Elish Angiolini QC announced yesterday.

Ogg, who was admitted to the faculty of Advocates in 1989, is a former solicitor in private practice. His appointment will cover the planned departure of Sean Murphy QC.

Angiolini said: "I am delighted that Derek has accepted my invitation to serve as a Senior Advocate Depute.  He has a wealth of experience and skills, which will only strengthen the already considerable talent that is evident in Crown Counsel.

"I have no doubt that he will be a valuable asset and ensure that we maintain a strong Crown Counsel team to take forward the prosecution of the most serious crime in Scotland."
