Argyll and Bute Council Leader, Councillor Dick Walsh, visited the Isle of Mull last week to meet a number of key organisations.

These included the Mull and Iona Community Trust. Walsh discussed with Trust members, the role of the social economy and sustainability of community initiatives. He was joined on the visit by Councillor Duncan McIntosh and Leadership Support Officer, Alison Debling.

The leader also attended a meeting of Mull Community Council where he heard what the key issues are for the island where the main cause for concern was the condition of the roads. He then went on to meet with Tobermory Harbour Association and members of the Mull and Iona Community Enterprise.

The trip also included a Glengorm waste site to see the improved landfill provision, learn more about the community recycling group MESS and look at the new bio diesel plant.
