The last opinion poll ahead of today’s elections to the Scottish Parliament has predicted that the SNP will take 45 seats to Labour's 39.
The latest YouGov poll, for the Daily Telegraph,
surveyed 1,137 voters as late as 5pm yesterday afternoon. The survey
shows that the SNP retains a six-point lead over Labour in the
constituency vote, but this has fallen three points in a week. However,
according to this poll, the SNP has increased its lead in the
regional vote from four points to five.
The poll follows two polls yesterday from Populus and ICM, which had
seen the SNP lead over Labour, in projected seats, narrow to two and
one respectively.
The Populus poll for the Times showed that the SNP has a four point
lead of Labour in the constituency vote, with a subsequent outcome in
Holyrood of 45 seats for the SNP and Labour on 43.
The ICM poll, which was conducted for the Scotsman, has the SNP ahead
by 2 per cent on the constituency vote and 1 per cent on the regional
vote, which would leave one seat between them, with 43 versus 42.
