Thursday, 03 May 2007

In one of the final Holyrood 2007 poll results, almost three-quarters of respondents want the next Scottish Executive to use its influence to get Scottish troops pulled out of Iraq as soon as possible.

Seventy-two per cent of voters agreed that troops should leave Iraq, with only 28 per cent saying 'no'.

In a separate poll question, respondents asked if they thought that Scotland's railways should be brought back into public ownership. Fifty-seven per cent thought that 'yes', they should be, and 43 per cent said 'no'.

To vote in today’s poll, “Who would you like to see as the next First Minister? Jack McConnell or Alex Salmond”, visit www.holyrood2007.net
