An island MSP has rubbished internet claims that he walked hand-in-hand along a beach with another man . Nationalist politician Alasdair Allan yesterday hit back at a website posting by an ex-SNP councillor.

Labour were reeling last night after an astonishing snub by two former First Ministers sparked a by-election crisis .  

Europe Minister Jim Murphy is being lined up to run a new Ministry of the Nations .

Scottish Labour leadership contender Andy Kerr has warned his party are in danger of becoming a "political irrelevance" .
