During her visit to NHS 24’s new premises in Cardonald, Sturgeon will also view the service’s new website.

Speaking in advance of her visit, Sturgeon said:

"NHS 24 is an integral part of the NHS in Scotland, providing a vital health care advice when doctors' surgeries are closed. For many people, it also helps them access the best out of hours service whether that be a home doctor, emergency centre or a late night community pharmacy.

"Our NHS should always strive to provide the best possible care, so holding those who manage our NHS boards to account in public is the right thing to do.

"This not only gives credit for the many successes, but helps to tackle tough issues and drive forward improvements.

The annual review is open to the public and this year extra time has been allocated to allow additional questions from members of the public. Sturgeon said that she hopes people will take the opportunity to attend, ask questions and contribute their ideas to “help shape the future of their NHS.”

"We look forward to welcoming the Cabinet Secretary on her visit to our new headquarters at Cardonald for the Annual Review. The past year has been one of consolidation and progress for NHS 24 and we hope this will be a positive and constructive review of our activities during this period.”

The review will take place at NHS 24’s headquarters in Caledonia House, Cardonald Park, Glasgow, between 12 noon and 1345 tomorrow.
