Scotland faces an unprecedented shortage of housing over the next decade due to an increasing population and a dramatic drop in the number of new homes being built.  One expert is warning that the shortfall will result in “social unrest on a massive scale”.

Scots could be paid to recycle bottles and pay a deposit on the foil trays from Chinese or Indian takeaways, under a scheme being proposed by the Scottish Government.

An American postie has vowed to step up his tartan crusade to make the kilt part of the official US postal uniform — after winning the support of thousands of mailmen across the States.
