Scottish rally of support for Obama Print E-mail
Thursday, 10 April 2008

Scottish supporters of Senator Barack Obama’s bid to become the next President of the USA are to hold a rally outside the Scottish Parliament this weekend.

Rally organiser Kezia Dugdale said the event will be an opportunity for Obama’s Scottish supporters to send a message of support to his campaign ahead of the Pennsylvania primary on 22 April.

“The President of the United States is one of the most powerful jobs in the world, so it matters to all of us who holds that post."

“Senator Obama represents a new type of politics and a new type of politician. One who understands the global challenges and opportunities of the 21st century and one who has the ability to re-engage a generation of people who have lost faith in politics.”

The rally will take place on Saturday 12 April at 4.30pm. Those wishing to attend should meet outside the public entrance of the Scottish Parliament.
