More than 150 members of the Scottish Youth Parliament (MSYPs) have been welcomed to the Scottish Parliament by Presiding Officer Alex Fergusson for a two-day sitting.
During their visit the MSYPs, led by the Scottish Youth Parliament’s chair John Loughton, will hear a keynote speech from Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning Fiona Hyslop MSP and take part in a Question and Answer session with Hyslop and other MSPs from across the political spectrum.
Fergusson MSP said he was pleased to welcome back the MSYPs and that he is looking forward to a “robust and lively debate” on a range of issues.
He added: "Young people have an important role to play in the democratic process and I'm sure MSYPs will make the most of this opportunity to ensure their voices are heard."
The morning event on Saturday 1 March in the Debating Chamber will be web cast live from 10.00am until 1.00pm on: www.holyrood.tv.
