The number of weapons seized inside Scotland’s jails has almost doubled in the past five years . In 2002, 252 weapons were recovered. But shock new figures have revealed that last year the figure had soared to 477.

Scottish soldiers involved in the clean-up operation following the Lockerbie bombing are still receiving psychological treatment for emotional trauma 20 years after the terrorist outrage.
