Scottish Financial Enterprise has unveiled a new forum that aims to promote innovation in Scotland’s financial services industry.
In a joint venture with Scottish Enterprise, Fast Forward: The
Financial Services Futures Forum, is designed to encourage “innovative
solutions” to the challenges facing financial services companies.
The forum will hold a series of debates to boost the competitive
advantage of the industry. The first event, held yesterday, focused on
talent and was attended by senior financial representatives.
Amanda Harvie, SFE chief executive, said: “Scotland is an international
centre of excellence for financial services, built on a unique
combination of talent, expertise, history, innovation and a
concentration of many of the world’s leading financial services
companies across all of the main sectors of the industry.
“In a world of increasing global competition, we must seek new
solutions to the current challenges and opportunities we face. Fast
Forward is an exciting new initiative that we hope will provide a forum
through which innovative solutions can be developed.”
Scottish Financial Enterprise represents the interests of Scotland’s
financial services industry. Total SFE members account for over 70 per
cent of the 108,000 people directly employed within Scotland’s
financial services industry.
