Plans for more than 3,000 new wind turbines across Scotland are facing prolonged delays because the planning system is logjammed, undermining ministers' efforts to cut the pollution that is wrecking the climate.

MSPS would be forced to hand back the profits made on their publicly-funded second homes under plans being considered by a Holyrood review team. 

A senior government spin doctor is at the centre of a row over emails he sent in which he described Scotland as "narrow, Presbyterian and racist." 

A top businessman given the task of reforming Scottish Labour has suggested that the party's leader, Wendy Alexander , should attend Cabinet meetings of the UK government.
