One of Labour's biggest donors last night warned party chiefs he would refuse to hand over any more cash until they cleaned up the scandal-hit system of political funding.

Criminal gangs are stealing the identities of 200 dead Scots a week in a rapidly growing trade now worth tens of millions of pounds a year, the Government admitted last night.

Full details of the SNP's spending during their victorious Holyrood election campaign have been revealed in official documents obtained by Scotland on Sunday.

More than a third of Scottish farms sold this year have been snapped up by cash-rich businesspeople anxious to avoid paying inheritance tax (IHT) to the Inland Revenue when they die.
