Early intervention dental service announced Print E-mail
Friday, 30 November 2007

The first school based preventative dental service will be launched in Fife next week by Public Health Minister Shona Robison.

The ‘Childsmile School’ service, which will be launched at Methilhill Primary School in Leven on Monday, will involve dental care teams visiting primary schools to deliver oral health promotion, health education messages and initiatives in a bid to tackle dental decay through early intervention.

Robison said: "The Childsmile School initiative will play a vital role in preventing dental decay. Our information about child oral health shows things are improving but more can be done to continue this positive shift."
