The Scottish Parliament’s European and External Affairs Committee has launched a call for evidence in its inquiry into Scotland’s international development work.

Key to the inquiry will be the debate over whether development work should be based geographically, that is focused on countries, and if so, which countries – or focused on themes, like healthcare and governance.

Committee convener Malcolm Chisholm called for a wide range of bodies and groups to submit evidence.

“This inquiry is a real opportunity for the Committee, in consultation with the international development community in Scotland, to reflect on what works well and what could work more effectively in raising awareness of development issues and providing assistance to developing countries.”
