A new website has been launched by the Scottish road works
commissioner which allows the public to see where road works are taking place
in roads across Scotland.
The website will allow the public to access online maps which show the position of road works, how long they are planned to last, what their impact is likely to be and what company is carrying them out.
Speaking to Holyrood, the Commissioner John Gooday said that the website represented “quite a move forward”.
He added: “The information used on the website comes from the Scottish Road Works Register, an electronic database management system used to manage and co-ordinate road works. The development of this system puts Scotland at the forefront internationally in the use of such a management system on a national scale.”
