Policy : Policy and Research

Since 1983 the Wise Group has been helping unemployed people to access labour market opportunities. Over this time we have developed considerable expertise in working with the most difficult to reach groups such as the long term unemployed, people with disability and health problems, ex-offenders and the homeless.

Our innovative programmes are all built around our central belief, that work is the best means by which to tackle inequality, poverty and disadvantage.

Our work also demonstrates that joined up approaches to employability can actively contribute to a range of other social issues such as health, the physical environment, recycling, fuel poverty, home security and community safety.

The role of the Wise Group’s Policy and Research Unit is to make use of this experience in order to contribute to policy.
