Minimum unit price for alcohol announced

In announcing its proposed unit price the Scottish Government says has taken into account an inflation rise of around five per cent since the previous 45p per unit price was proposed in 2010. Under the proposals the minimum price of 50p would remain for a period of at least two years following implementation in order to allow the market to react and settle to the minimum price.
